Free, Instant Access to Workers' Compensation Coverage Information

January 14, 2015

The California Workers' Compensation Coverage Inquiry website (https://www.caworkcompcoverage.com) helps you identify the name of the insurer that wrote a California workers' compensation insurance policy for a specific employer on a specific date within the last 5 years. The Website is free, provides instant access to information, and may save the time and expense associated with submitting coverage research requests or subpoenas to the WCIRB.

  • Users can search for coverage information by Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) or company name.
  • Up to 5 years of coverage information is available.
  • The Website includes a link directly to the insurer search page on the California Department of Insurance website making it easy to locate insurer contact information.
  • New for 2015 - “Print Results” capability allows users to download, save and print their detailed search results.

Only privately insured coverage information is shown on the Website. To obtain information about self-insured employers, contact the California Office of Self-Insurance Plans (www.dir.ca.gov/sip.)

Refer to the “Notes Regarding Your Search” section on the Policyholder Search page of the Website for helpful information on refining your coverage information search. Insurers, employers, injured workers and others who are unable to locate coverage information using the Website may contact the WCIRB directly for assistance. See the Coverage Research page in the Products and Services section of the WCIRB website.
