Upcoming WCIRB Connect Enhancement Delivers New X-Mod Status Messages

July 29, 2015

In our April 8, 2015 WCIRB News and Notes, we shared our plans to launch enhancements to WCIRB Connect based on feedback that we received from our users. Many enhancements have already been launched and WCIRB Connect continues to evolve.

Coming on or around August 1, we will add an enhancement to the policyholder search function that will add clarifying definitions to the “X-Mod History” grid of the Policyholder Details page.

Currently, you can see only three X-Mod Status reasons for why the WCIRB cannot publish an X-Mod:

  • Missing Experience
  • Experience Rating (ER) Error on the USR
  • Missing Current Coverage

With the new enhancement, you will now see one of eight X-Mod pending status messages. To review the definition of each status, simply click the hyperlink in the X-Mod Status column.

The new pending status messages include:

Definition of X-Mod pending status

Missing Experience

Coverage provided by another insurer for a policy year is missing experience and preventing publication of the experience modification. If you work for the insurer of record, additional information about the missing experience is available by clicking the status message.

ER Error(s)

The unit statistical data for a policy year has failed one of the WCIRB’s experience rating audit checks preventing the publication of the experience modification. If you work for the insurer of record, additional information about the error is available by clicking the status message.

Too Early to Rate

The WCIRB rates risks up to four months prior to the Anniversary Rating Date (ARD).

Rates Not Approved

The pure premium rates for ARD year have not been approved by the California Insurance Commissioner.

In Progress

The X-Mod status should be updated within the next 1-5 business days.

Requires Insurer Response

The WCIRB has sent correspondence to an insurer regarding an issue that could impact the experience modification. For example, an ownership change, a question regarding combinable entities, or some other issue requires additional information from the insurer before the WCIRB can produce an experience modification.

Pending Receipt of Coverage

The WCIRB does not have a record of current coverage for the experience modification effective period. Once the insurer provides the necessary policy data, the WCIRB can produce an experience modification.

Unable to Rate

The WCIRB has been unable to obtain the data required to generate an experience modification rating.

We are continuously looking for user feedback regarding WCIRB Connect™. Please email [email protected] if you have anything to share with us.
