Upcoming WCIRB Connect® Enhancements – New Permission Level Access for Third Party Administrators and Managing General Agents (TPEs)

As part of its continuing efforts to help insurers efficiently manage their data, the WCIRB will be launching a new feature in WCIRB Connect® in the spring of 2017. This update will allow an insurer to expand its options to assign the extent of access that each of its designated Third Party Administrators or Managing General Agencies (collectively referred to as Third Party Entities or TPEs) have to the insurer’s specific policy and/or unit statistical report (USR) data in WCIRB Connect.

Currently, if authorized by the insurer, a TPE can access either all of its insurer’s policy and USR data in WCIRB Connect or only the data the TPE submitted electronically to the WCIRB on behalf of the insurer. With this new feature, insurers will have an additional option of using the Business Segment Identifier (BSI) field on their electronic data file submissions to assign each of their TPEs access to specific policy and/or USR data.
