Upcoming Webinars on Classification Research Studies and Proposed Changes for 2018

As part of its administration of the California Workers' Compensation Uniform Statistical Reporting Plan—1995 (USRP) and the Standard Classification System, the WCIRB performs studies to ensure that USRP provisions and classifications are aligned with the California economy and evolving business operations. The WCIRB’s Classification Research team has completed a number of studies that result in proposals to eliminate, amend or establish classifications effective January 1, 2018.

The WCIRB has scheduled three free webinars in early July to discuss the proposed changes and to answer any questions. Register at the links below:

  • Video Media, Audio Media and Book Stores
    Thursday, July 6, 2017 - 10:00 AM – 10:30 AM PT
    The WCIRB is proposing to establish a new classification that will consolidate retail video stores, book stores and audio media stores that have similar operations.
     
  • Athletic or Fitness Instructional Programs, Spas and Baths
    Friday, July 7, 2017 - 10:00 AM – 10:30 AM PT
    The WCIRB is proposing to establish a new classification for operations that offer athletic or fitness instructional programs.
     
  • Security Systems, Audio/Video Systems, Office Machines, Computer Systems, Telephone Systems and Instruments Installation, Service and Repair|
    Wednesday, July 12, 2017 - 10:00 AM – 10:30 AM PT
    The WCIRB is proposing revisions to existing classifications and the addition of six new classifications to the Standard Classification System which will establish clear classification procedures for installation, service and repair of building security systems, audio/video systems, office machines, computer systems, telephone systems and instruments.
