With 2016 quickly approaching, the WCIRB is ramping up outreach and education efforts around the approved changes to the California Workers’ Compensation Uniform Statistical Reporting Plan—1995 and the California Workers’ Compensation Experience Rating Plan—1995 effective January 1, 2016, and we are also looking ahead to start providing more information about the 2017 changes. For a summary of the changes, see the WCIRB’s New for 2016 and 2017 publication.
Recent outreach events included presentations at InsurFEST 2015, hosted by the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of California (IIABCal), and at PWI San Diego’s monthly meeting. The WCIRB’s presentation “2016 USRP and ERP Changes & Preview of the 2017 Variable Split Plan” highlighted the 2016 changes to the Standard Classification System and experience rating eligibility. The presenters also shared information about the variable split point enhancement to the Experience Rating Plan that is coming in 2017 (view the presentation slides).
More information about the 2017 experience rating changes will be communicated throughout 2016, including webinars and other educational resources. For the latest news and information, make sure you and your co-workers subscribe to WCIRB News and Notes.
