The September 1, 2022 Experience Modification Estimator is now available on the Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau of California (WCIRB) website. This Estimator is an application that makes it easy to estimate experience modifications (X-Mods). 

How It Works

The Experience Modification Estimator relies on payroll and loss information that you enter. The estimated X-Mod is for informational purposes only; because results are dependent upon the information you enter, they may differ from the actual X-Mods issued by the WCIRB.

The Experience Modification Estimator can be accessed for free in the Learning Center of wcirb.com or through the link below: 

• September 1, 2022 Experience Modification Estimator: This Excel-based application estimates an X-Mod based on the September 1, 2022 Experience Rating Plan values including expected loss rates, D-ratios and primary thresholds that vary by employer size that have been approved by the California Insurance Commissioner.
