Actuarial Committee to Meet August 4

The Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau of California (WCIRB) Actuarial Committee will meet at 9:30 AM on August 4, 2020 via webinar teleconference.

At the meeting, the Committee will review the following:

  • The impact of claim settlement rate changes on allocated loss adjustment expense (ALAE) development
  • Longer-term loss development methodologies
  • COVID-19 cost projections for the January 1, 2021 Pure Premium Rate Filing
  • Insurer experience valued as of March 31, 2020
  • Third quarter 2020 system diagnostics
  • Loss adjustment expense experience and alternative loss projection methodologies for the January 1, 2021 Pure Premium Rate Filing
  • Impact of the recent economic slowdown on pure premium rate projections
  • The potential impact of medical care delays on costs
  • The January 1, 2021 advisory pure premium rate to be proposed for the proposed new Clerical Telecommuter Employees classification
