WCIRB Releases Webinar Resources for Cost Evaluation of Conclusive COVID-19 Presumption

The Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau of California (WCIRB) recently held a webinar to discuss its new research brief, Cost Evaluation of Potential Conclusive COVID-19 Presumption in California Workers’ Compensation. The California workers’ compensation system is expected to be significantly impacted by benefits and medical treatment costs paid to on behalf of California workers who contract the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and are in the following industries:

  • First response
  • Healthcare services
  • Other industries deemed to be essential

In this webinar, WCIRB actuaries and researchers discuss the key assumptions underlying their estimates of the potential financial impact COVID-19 claims will have on the California system.
