WCIRB Submits January 1, 2021 Regulatory Filing

Today, the Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau of California (WCIRB) submitted a January 1, 2021 Regulatory Filing to the California Insurance Commissioner. The filing contains the following proposals to become effective January 1, 2021:

  • Amendments to the California Workers’ Compensation Uniform Statistical Reporting Plan—1995, including amendments to the Standard Classification System. These amendments are proposed to be applied to a policy with an effective date on or after January 1, 2021.
  • Amendment to the Miscellaneous Regulations for the Recording and Reporting of Data—1995 to be applied to a policy with an effective date on or after January 1, 2021.
  • Amendments to the California Workers’ Compensation Experience Rating Plan—1995 to be applied as of the first rating effective date of a risk on or after January 1, 2021.

The WCIRB website will be updated to provide a copy of the Notice of Proposed Action and Notice of Public Hearing once it is received from the California Department of Insurance. Upon receipt of the Commissioner’s Decision, the WCIRB will post the Decision on its website.

The WCIRB will submit a separate filing in August 2020 that will include proposed changes to the advisory pure premium rates to be effective January 1, 2021.
