Where to Access WCIRB’s Coverage Research Services
The Workers’ Compensation Coverage Inquiry website is a free service provided by the WCIRB for anyone to use in order to identify an insurer that wrote a California workers' compensation insurance policy for a specific employer on a specific date within the last five years.
Insurers, employers, licensed health care providers, CIGA, authorized TPAs and MGAs as well as attorneys involved in pending workers’ compensation claims and their authorized employees or copy service can, for a fee, submit online coverage research requests as well as check request status.
The Claims Coverage Research feature of WCIRB Connect provides insurer claims adjusters free and immediate access to detailed coverage information for policies that incept in 1974 or later. Authorized government agencies can also obtain workers’ compensation coverage information through WCIRB Connect.

Government agencies authorized to receive workers’ compensation coverage information pursuant to California Insurance Code Sections 11752.5 et. seq. and/or 1877 et. seq. can obtain online access to workers’ compensation coverage information through WCIRB Connect. To obtain access to WCIRB Connect, complete Form 401, Request for Remote Access to Coverage Information.
